TRYOUTS & OPEN GYMS
We are very excited and looking forward to another competitive club season next year. Canuck is going to run a full slate of 20 teams for the 2025/26 season with our usual focus on developing character, skills and a lifelong love of the game, but for now we are focused on a little time to breathe and recover from the busy school year end. Many of our athletes will turn to playing beach volleyball over the spring and summer as a great way to stay in shape and improve their skills without the wear and tear sometimes experienced in the indoor game. Volleyball Alberta has put out a new signing policy moving to a fall signing period for the 2025/26 season. For full details, click here.
Because so many of our teams experienced a very successful season, we expect many of those roster spots in the U14 to U18 age groups will be filled with returning Canuck athletes during the re-signing period. There will however, be some room for athletes who are new to Canuck to have the opportunity to compete for a roster spot during the Fall Tryout Period in September.
We will be updating this "News" page and our "Teams and Coaches" page in June with information regarding our 2026 Canuck Coaching Staff as well as dates and registration for open gyms to be held over the summer, so if you are interested in more information about our Canuck program, please check out this site periodically to see the latest updates on our Canuck teams and upcoming events.
Our long-term athlete development model allows our athletes to train and compete at every practice with many of the best volleyball players in the Calgary area, which is critical in helping interested athletes prepare to go on to the post-secondary level. So, if you think you have what it takes to be a Canuck athlete and want more specific information, please visit our “Teams and Coaches” Page.
